i’m furious. I enquired online and received numerous subsequent calls and emails. For the most part these were helpful, though possibly excessive.

The main issue is that I have been through all of this, attended the consultation appointment and had my measurements taken, eyes examined and countless questions answered to then be told immediately I am ineligible - for something they could have told me when I first enquired or they could have listed clearly on their website not in the fine print!

I am under 35 and long sighted so therefore am ineligible. Both things that are not hard to determine.

I won’t get this time back, including the time spent collecting previous prescriptions, time not spent doing my usual activities because of being unable to wear contact lenses in advance of the appointment and the hassle of getting to the appointment and making the time up at work.

These things may sound trivial but above all else I was given false hope.

This is utterly unacceptable and I can’t help but think I am a sucker for going through this to ultimately just give them my details to contact me when I’m older and more likely to be eligible.
